Hyundai unveiled the new-look Accent at the New York Autoshow, showing a design which seems to be a mixture of the European i30 and the new Elantra.
From the back the new Accent looks pretty much like the i30, but at front it’s much better than its sibling and features “Fluidic Sculpture” design. As it’s the case with ever new Hyundai, there are a lot of best-in-class things about it!
The car is gets a new all-aluminum 1.6-liter Gamma four-cylinder engine with class-leading 138 horsepower and 123 lb-ft of torque and a best-in-class standard 30 mpg city and 40 mpg highway fuel economy rating. It features GDI direct injection, Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (D-CVVT) on both intake and exhaust camshafts, an Alternator Management System, an offset crankshaft design, variable induction system and electronic throttle control, as well as CrN Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating and Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) coating. That’s a lot of features.
Apart from the engine, the new Accent is also packed with safety and luxury equipments. That’s what made the previous models successful. They offered so many features for a very reasonable price. The new one too maintains its value for money factor.
